Who We Are
Last Updated: August 2018
At a recent convening of World Baseball Project's "brain trust" in East Africa - over the course of a month, in total, between Kenya and Ethiopia, it was decided that anyone who has supported World Baseball Project in any way is officially part of World Baseball Project. In that sense, our network extends to USA, Canada, China, Vietnam, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Germany, England/UK, and beyond.
Thus, World Baseball Project is a dedicated group of individuals, all over the world, committed to the promise of sport as neutral playing ground for the common good. In our case, that sport is baseball. Our roots, like those of humankind, take earth in East Africa, where the game is present in at least four countries.
In the "on the ground" sense, we have identified four specific sites for which we seek to immediately provide direct development support - sites where that support is needed, welcome, and would do the greatest good. One is in Ethiopia, three are in Kenya.
We have - up to now - "gotten by" on loads of volunteer efforts and a smattering of Go Fund Me contributions, but it's going to take more than that to turn our Vision into reality. If you would like to become a major sponsor, please get in touch with us.
And don't worry. You don't have to love baseball to love World Baseball Project. Who knows - maybe we'll help you fall in love.
"First we show them love, then no matter what we've already won, if only it is their hearts for a day."
